Welcome to the Cornell Field Crops Pathology Lab led by Dr. Camilo H. Parada Rojas.

We study diseases in corn, soybean, small grains, and alfalfa to improve management decisions in production systems. Our work connects field research, pathogen genomics, and extension to deliver data growers can use.

We integrate approaches across:

• Crop disease management – to evaluate fungicides, host resistance, and agronomic practices as tools growers use in their fields
• Diagnostics and surveillance – to develop early detection systems, including spore trapping and CRISPR-based assays
• Pathogen genomics – to track population change, fungicide sensitivity, and virulence shifts across regions
• Genomic epidemiology – to measure disease risk, yield impact, and management outcomes under New York conditions </aside>
